The IELTS test tests your proficiency in four skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking). There are two versions of the IELTS test: the academic module and the general module. The listening and speaking keys are the same in both modules, but the reading and writing keys differ. The Academic IELTS module is very demanding and active mastery of academic English at an advanced level is therefore necessary.
Different educational institutes apply different admission requirements regarding the English language skills of students. You can check with the university of your choice which IELTS score is expected from you. To benefit as much as possible from this IELTS preparation course, it is useful to know in advance what score you need.
If IELTS is a requirement for admission to the university, it is advisable to start the preparation early.
